Reflection

Bloggiversary continued...

This time last year I wasn't making any Art. I wasnt even drawing! The one love that kept balance in my life was missing. When I reflect on that time, I can now understand why I felt so empty.
Baking for my friends and family has helped me rekindle my absence from Art. Make new friends and become a better baker!
My growth in this World of edible Art has surprised even me! I am thoroughly enjoying watching my friends devour my cakes with the joy you think you only see in children.. Seeing that you can bring the same innocent experience to adults is very pleasing. Reconnecting with friends and loved ones has brought so much positive life into ours. This is to them, my friends new and old. My ever growing family...

So here we go, reflection...

The cake that started it!

The cakes that taught me a World of patience...

The party which proved I could make it in a variety..

11/11/11!!!

A special thank you to Josh, whom without, I could not have achieved as much as I have.
A great big thank you to my sister, Yoggs. You are a true blessing in my World! The best Masi to my Amani anyone could ever ask for. You helped me to help myself. Thank you.

Made it just in time!

Happy 1 year Bloggiversary! What a jam packed day it has been!

Firstly, I'd like to say a big Thank you to those who have popped over in the past, present and hopefully the near future! Thank you to my friends, family, Playcentre friends and all those who I have met through the Wonderful World of  the Web!
Without you all, I would not be where I am today.
A Happy Lil 'Shortie' as my friends call me.
My year 'end' surprisingly  began with a 21st cake delivered to a dinner party in the City. My beautiful sister-in-law gave me a unique challenge earlier this year to make a Louis Vuitton Briefcase for her sister who was bound for Sydney on a career path which funnily enough brings her back often, and just in time to eat my cake!
From this cake and the exposure Seemal has given me. I have thankfully gained alot of interest.
The cake I delivered to the Eight, was a Valrhona cacao chocolate cake, layered with Valrhona butter cream and covered in Vanilla/Chocolate fondant by Satin Ice.

My rendition of a Louis Vuitton Alzer Stack.

Tis the season...

So, on wondering what to feed my loved ones this Christmas I went on a google 'google' ;$
I made this lil number to bring to our Playcentre Training Evening in Epsom.
It is Super Scrummy and easy to make! I call it the Phat Fat Brownie! Take your favourite brownie recipe and smother a whole lotta chocolate butter cream over the top! Drop oodles of crushed oreo cookie or an alternative favourite, like mint slice or even squiggle tops!
If you would like a fab choc brownie recipe... Simply email me! :)

Another super easy one which I think suits our seasonal celebration very well with the abundance of strawberries now, Santa Hat Brownies! This lil number I found on daisyt13.wordpress.com. Which was originally adapted from ericasweettooth.com
Upon gazing my eyes all over Erica's site, I just couldnt resist! So, to follow there will be alot more I will be trying from her collection of scrummy numbers!

Again, take your favourite brownie recipe. Use a circular cookie cutter to form this super sharp shape! Pipe a circle of  mascarpone (my preference) or your fav flavoured butter cream (colourless). Pop your strawberries atop securely as shown, then pipe a spot on the top! And there you have it! Santa Hat Brownies!!
Keep a peep on our Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blissful-Brownies/134299786641172
as I will be giving some away this season! Sweet sweet!
I am waiting on a box of candy canes from my cousins. My Aunt and Uncle have a Family business, well they have for a number of years now. Here in Auckland, Horners Confectionery.I have a few lil numbers I am wanting to give a go... So, keep a peep out for those too!!
Until then, Happy Baking All! I wish you a safe and exceptionally silly seasonal beginning! lol
